Software AG approached Nimble in December '07 with an urgent need to retool the brand for launch February 1, 2008 at the annual sales kickoff in Germany. Nimble worked with in-house marketing personnel in the US and Germany to redesign the corporate brochure, posters, emails, and other collateral that would showcase the new brand. Simultaneously, we developed a new style guide based on the redesigned pieces.
Software AG didn't want to change the logo, color palette, or other major brand elements. But the brand's existing execution was visually confusing and didn't project that the products were intuitive, simple, and customer-focused.
We made white space a major component of the new look, and limited the number of colors used on any one page. We used metrics to emphasize value added, and cutout images that were customer focused. The new look launched on time, with a very positive reception on both continents.
